Not everyone has an entrepreneur’s spirit but many of you are looking to create significant wealth or more joy as part of their destiny.
We’ve all heard Joseph Campbell’s words on creating wealth, “Follow your bliss …”, but how can we turn this beautiful sentiment into clarity in order to move closer to what we want to be doing with our work? Not everyone has an entrepreneur’s spirit but many of you are looking to create significant wealth or more joy. Then you realize you can’t earn more than you already do in your current work or alternately you don’t feel satisfied doing that work. The litmus test question you should be asking yourself : How do I feel at the end of the day about my work today? If your answer is a resounding NOT GOOD AT ALL, then continue reading and learn the 3 most important questions to ask yourself in order to discover your life’s purpose – your destiny – and your greatest potential for wealth.
1. What are you passionate about?
There is something that you do already that is so interesting and enjoyable that you lose track of time. Hours can go by and you don’t even notice. It isn’t enough to say that you are passionate about making money. I believe this is why 95% of people who attempt to make money with MLMs or network marketing (Tupperware, Avon, Amway) fail. The energy to sustain the long hours, the set backs, the sometimes constant rejection when you make your pitch along with the initial resistance to seeing yourself differently, is only readily available if you are truly passionate about what you are doing and not about the money aspect. In other words, what would you do or are you doing currently that you’d still do even if you didn’t receive money for it? This is clue #1 and if the answer doesn’t come easily to you try tapping on: “Even though I am afraid I don’t have anything I am really passionate about, I deeply and completely…” What may be happening when you are stuck on this question is that you weren’t allowed to express your joy or passion when you were a child. If this is the case, then devote some time to tapping on those significant emotional experiences or traumas from the past where this was indeed the case.
2. What are you already good at?
If you aren’t sure of the answer, then ask your family and friends. Sometimes we take our talents for granted in a way that we can’t clearly identify. Those close to us already know. “Oh sure, you always do the taxes impeccably well. You can look at my car and not only figure out what’s wrong but you are usually able to fix it yourself. You have an eye for color and design, that’s why we are always asking you for decorating advice. You always know what to say when someone in the family is upset”. Trust me, they will know. Use this as a launching off point for an extensive talents and traits inventory on yourself.
3. How can you be of service to others?
This is where your small idea can shift into something huge as you see how this will help many people in addition to you or your family. I always ask my clients to set up an infinity fund when they finally begin on their path towards their destiny. This is simply a bank account earmarked to continue your work in the world once you have left it. It reminds you that you’re building a legacy and with that amount of focused intent on creating something beyond yourself and your needs, the universal forces move heaven and earth to make your dreams a reality.
