If you’ve ever had a life-altering change thrown unexpectedly your way you’ve experienced some level of disorientation. This stage usually comes after the change happened and after a certain amount of emptiness has been felt. Your old familiar comfortable life as you knew it is gone and after you’ve examined that big gaping hole you feel lost. The only way beyond is through and the only way to the quiet these days is to go within but that can be difficult without tools like EFT.
Through tapping you can learn where the roots of these feelings of disorientation and fear are. Most assuredly they aren’t new. Life itself is full of change and the EFT process can help you identify why these current feelings are overwhelming. EFT is also useful in the “letting go” of outcomes during this phase. Most of us what to feel control over what is happening in our lives and when we need to sit back and wait fear takes hold.
Disorientation is there to assist you on a soul-level in releasing a fear-based life, learn unconditional love, and acceptance. Often times things happen that support radical changes in our lives that we knew needed to happen all along but we were somehow trapped into believing we couldn’t or shouldn’t move forward. In order to support this phase and be at peace with “what is” try these tapping prompts inspired by the book “You’re Not Going Crazy…You’re Just Waking Up!”, the Untethered Soul, and the stages of spiritual awakening.
1. The Switch or the Call
This is the call to adventure or the point at which you are forced to make a change or accept what has changed. This can feel like the rug has been pulled from under us but for the lucky ones it could just be a moment of realization that you are more than a body.
For this phase the best thing to do is to face your fears. Ask yourself what about the uncertainty is causing anxiety. Be specific when imagining your worst case scenarios. The world is changing and what does that mean to you specifically? What are you afraid might happen to you, your community, family/friends?
2. The Zone
This is the happy start of the journey to awakening when you see signs everywhere, your intuition is spot on, synchronicity abounds and your path is getting clear or you feel that you know which path to take. This is very much the honeymoon phase.
This is when most people don’t need to tap but if you feel like “the other shoe” will drop then tap on past events where it really did fall.
3. The Dark Night of the Soul
Here’s where you will feel the most pain. It’s when your unhealed parts will resurface. For those that have been on a spiritual journey before you can be really upset that these parts are still not completely healed, “Why is this showing up again! I thought I was done with that!”
I recommend that you listen to this podcast episode and focus your tapping on these feelings. This stage can’t be whizzed through and for many it will take time. Using EFT will help to speed up the process but acceptance of where you are is critical. Tapping on allowing things to surface will be of great help.
4. The Empty Cup or Void
When you have reached a place of surrender and have done enough work on yourself (with self-tapping or with the assistance of a practitioner or a combination) then you are left with the feeling of disorientation as in, “What’s next?” The old ways don’t work and you are left with a void. The void is actually the beginning – think Big Bang or In the beginning …. Some teachers say that after all that purging and releasing of baggage your mind and body just needs a rest.
Tapping on fighting or resisting this quiet place of not knowing will assist you.
5. The Caterpillar Cocoon
Another usually positive phase of the journey when things get clear again and you feel connected to self, others, the Universe/God. You feel both grounded and spiritual.
Not much tapping is needed here except when doubt and impatience creeps in.
6. Discovering Your Purpose
It may take some time but you have faith and trust. You see the grand vision and are able to move with confidence.
Finally do you feel that you are ready for a new way, a new earth, a better world for yourself and your children’s children’s children? A friend sent me this message from David Spangler. He suggests that you sing this to and through your heart during these times but I have found that tapping along while reading it has a very strong healing effect on me. “May all who can open to these qualities and to the potential and energy of the new civilization unfolding around us. May love, not fear, hope, not despair, joy, not distress, compassion, not anger or hate, enfold each of us in safety, protection, and courage. May we have the will to do what is available to us to bring the new civilization into being. May my strength, my calm, my courage, my joy, my love empower at least one other person to join in this enterprise and become a source of vision and new life.”
Let me know how you are doing with this process.
Sending you love and light always,
Alina
