Over the last few months, I’ve had numerous intuitive “hits” about what’s happening now amidst the current pandemic. It’s been fascinating and a bit unnerving to watch events unfold that you have had play out in your mind beforehand. I want to share what lessons I’ve learned through all this worldwide time of frenetic energy.
Behavior is behavior is behavior.
We teach a course called LearningtoFindLove (L2FL) that offers some valuable insights to what is currently unfolding. We invite our students to pay attention to how they behave during the 6-week program. In the L2FL model for attracting your ideal romantic partner we teach them how to not only focus on the behaviors of their potential partners but also to get up close and personal with one significant behavior – how they act in the face of uncertainty. The uncertainty in this case is being single and not knowing where or when their ideal partner will appear. It’s truly fascinating to observe.
Some, when facing relationship-prospect-uncertainty, act out of fear with a scarcity mindset that might sound something like: “Yes I know this guy isn’t really for me but he’s treating me better than anyone else so I’ll just settle”. The uncertainty in the U.S. right now is all about the virus. Instead of behaving in a manner that exudes optimism and possibility of resilience and making the best of the situation, or finding the gifts in it, millions are panic shopping for toilet paper of all things!
Another way we succumb to the invisible cage of fear is by behaving in a manner that has a person over-ride their own inner knowing and giving all power away to “authority figures” and disregarding knowing what’s right for you. Now I am absolutely not telling you to not be mindful and aware and seek legitimate information, but in fear it is easy to lose track of ones own inner compass. An excellent example of this is the story of Dr. Helen Chu. She was directing a flu swabbing and tracking project since late 2019. She had been collecting and storing flu swabs from over 2500 Seattleites. She then began testing for the COVID-19 virus, which at that time was going against state guidelines. Soon afterwards the FDA and the CDC told her to stop testing for the virus and she refused. One of the early cases detected by her intuition directed rogue action led to a school being immediately closed after one teen was found positive by her lab. I can just imagine how many lives she has saved.
On a more personal note I felt my own inner knowing challenged. A group to which I belong, made a decision that for me was just plain wrong. After I tapped on my anger, I got a clear intuitive message, “You are not going to do that just because they said to,” and my gut went “yup”. That’s knowing, that’s intuitive living, and that’s what I am inviting you to do now.
Fear voice versus intuitive knowing.
For the last two days Craig and I have canceled all our Spring in-person workshops and speaking engagements. You can just imagine what that’s been like – paid participants wanting refunds, airline customer service lines backed up for 4 hours, contacting hotel venues to try to get our deposits back. People by and large have been extremely understanding. Before last week’s dramatic domino shut-down effect occurred across the U.S., I kept telling Craig that events were going to be canceled with a kind of certainty that only happens when one really knows. Intuition is emotionally neutral and all about the present moment whereas anxiety and fear are imbued with “time traveling.” In other words, there is projecting into the future or making assumptions based on the past. Using EFT on my fears has led me to be very intuitive and acting decisively with a strong inner conviction.
A quote I shared nine years ago popped up on my memory feed on Facebook last week, “There is no reality except the one contained within us. That is why so many people live such an unreal life. They take the images outside them for reality and never allow the world within to assert itself.” Hermann Hesse
Have you perhaps contemplated the idea that some part of you knew you would be going through this experience? Teaching Matrix Reimprinting has made me much more cognizant of the idea that time is not linear. Over the last few years, I’ve been led to make decisions that I know, when I look back on them now, I am completely clear were preparing us for this time we are living in.
These intuitive decisions I have made in the past to be ready for “these interesting times include:
- Making my home a cozy, peaceful sanctuary (the fear voice would have instead told me to hoard my money)
- Getting through the many obstacles of producing the Science of Tapping film before this time in order to help practitioners convince skeptics of the importance and effectiveness of EFT(fear voice would say screw this project and all its challenges, after all what do you know about producing a film?)
- Deciding to travel significantly less to teach workshops and build up our online offerings (fear voice would say most of your income is through live in-person training, what are you thinking?)
- Putting my focus on supporting budding EFT practitioners through business mentoring and EFT skill-set mastery (fear voice would say who are you to do this?)
- Deciding the time was right three months ago to make the decision to adopt another dog (fear voice would say it will take way too much time and effort to raise a puppy)
- Reconnecting with my local community a few months ago after years of international travel to assist under-served populations (fear voice would say aren’t you more comfortable surrounding yourself with people you know?)
- Making sure that I spent extra quality time over the last few months with family and loved ones on the other side of the country (Do you really want to spend all that time away from your business playing, you have work to get done!)
So, I ask you this question:
What do you have in your life now that might be an indication that you were somehow intuitively preparing for this time even if you were not doing it purposefully? I’d love to know, please comment below.
Meet Bibi our new puppy (tappingbibibear on Instagram) saying, “Get off the computer and come play!” Our intention was to train her as a therapy dog for clients, patients, and our local community- little did we know we’d be her first assignment!
Change is inevitable.
A longevity study I read years ago found that the top common mindset among those living past 100 years old was that they could easily adapt and accept change. While some see what’s happening as pandemonium, others see a shift in the collective occurring. This is based upon your inner experience and your ability to stay present. One of the greatest teachers for me while living through 911 in Washington D.C. were the children. I chose not to tell my young children what was happening, to not tell them the truth as far as why their schools were closed, why the military jets were constantly flying overhead and why we were changing our routines. My friends who did fully inform their children all found a pleasant unexpected response from their kids, “Okay, I hear you, but now can we go to the park?” or some variation.
Learn from your animal companions and the children in your life who are masters of living in the moment. You can experience the same thing with being alone in nature. Don’t forget that these energetically sensitive little beings pick up on your fear – another motivator for maintaining good energy hygiene during this time. Our now adult children are now having their own experience of this “interesting time” of chaotic connection for themselves. One just cancelled an exciting vacation and the other is about to graduate with a degree in something that may end up being completely irrelevant after all this dies down. Have you read my article on the ancient parable that invites you to stay open to what life is sending your way? From our limited human perspective, we really can’t grasp what this time will initiate but I am hopeful – what else but something like this can bring the US and nations together when we were more divide than ever?
Gray whales and hummingbird are following the natural cycle to come back to Whidbey Island. Blessed to experience both the biggest and smallest creatures in March each year.
EFT Practitioners heed the call.
Another lucid dream I had recently featured this, “Share with others the message that this is NOT the time to play small!” For the past few months, I’ve been guided to work with my eftmba.com participants specifically on releasing anything and everything that’s holding them back from getting the word out about EFT. Research suggests that EFT is capable to boosting your immune system. Watch how former EFT International training board member and Princess Cruise passenger Dave Abel got through COVID-19.
Shakespeare wrote King Lear when he was quarantined during the plague!
Think of all the amazing things you can be doing during this time. Be inspired by people like philanthropist Bill Gates who stepped down from the Microsoft board last week to re-focus all his energy on creating in COVID-19 home test kits. EFT will keep you from checking out with distractions like bad food/substances, hours of binging on Netflix, toxic news, and social media. Even if you can’t be using EFT for others find what you can do to assist your fellow humans now or work on expanding your capacity to assist by working through your own blocks or past negative experiences to make you more resilient!
How might this time of altered realities and time commitments and changed priorities be providing you with the perfect time for when the future you reflects back on this time and you think, wow, that was a perfect opportunity for me to….?
Our cancelled live in-person Seattle workshop materials. Rescheduling this, and other events, gave us room to make our 1st virtual EFT training for Self-Care a priority which also gives our business a boost when we’ve had to refund months’ of workshop tuition to registrants. We also have several free offerings happening through our Facebook Group here
Love, light, and good health to you and yours!
